Tax Manager | Corporate Tax | Build and Shape a Growing Tax Function
Compensation: $145,000 - $165,000 + 10% Bonus
A Top 10 Wealth Management Firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing corporate tax function.
While the organization operates within the wealth management industry, this opportunity is best suited for candidates coming from a corporate tax environment with strong experience in ASC 740 and U.S. corporate tax compliance
. The role functions much like a traditional in-house corporate tax position and offers a unique opportunity to help build and shape the tax function from the ground up.

, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish processes, influence tax strategy, and play a significant role in the future development of the tax department.
Reporting directly to the Partner & Controller
, you will oversee external tax providers while supporting tax planning initiatives, M&A activity, compliance oversight, and broader strategic projects. Long term, you'll help evaluate opportunities to bring additional tax functions in-house and contribute to building a scalable, best-in-class tax operation.
- Manage multi-state tax compliance across 20+ jurisdictions, including partnership, franchise, gross receipts, sales and use, and business tax filings
- Oversee state nexus tracking, registrations, estimated tax payments, and tax notice resolution
- Prepare and maintain ASC 740 income tax provision work papers, including deferred tax analyses and uncertain tax position documentation
- Support tax due diligence, structuring, and integration efforts related to acquisitions and strategic transactions
- Manage partnership tax reporting, including K-1 preparation, capital account maintenance, and tax basis schedules
- Partner with external advisors on federal and state tax compliance matters
- Identify tax savings opportunities, process improvements, and opportunities to insource work currently performed by outside providers
- Assist with tax forecasting, budgeting, and strategic tax planning initiatives
- CPA required
- 5+ years of tax experience
- Strong U.S. federal and state income tax compliance experience
- Experience preparing or supporting ASC 740 income tax provisions
- SALT experience preferred
- Experience working within a corporate tax department or serving corporate clients
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
