Valuations Associate Position Summary

The Senior Valuations Associate is responsible for performing and supporting business valuation and financial advisory engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners to analyze financial and operational information, develop valuation models, prepare client deliverables, and communicate findings and recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience in public accounting, valuation, transaction advisory, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related financial services environment, with a strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial statement analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute business valuation engagements for privately held and publicly traded companies across a variety of industries.
  • Perform valuations for purposes including financial reporting, tax planning and compliance, estate and gift planning, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder transactions, litigation support, and strategic planning.
  • Develop and analyze financial models using valuation methodologies including the Income Approach, Market Approach, and Asset Approach.
  • Perform discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analyses, precedent transaction analyses, capitalization of earnings, and other applicable valuation techniques.
  • Research and analyze company, industry, economic, and market data to support valuation conclusions.
  • Analyze historical and projected financial statements, cash flows, operating metrics, and other relevant financial information.
  • Assist in determining appropriate valuation assumptions, including discount rates, growth rates, market multiples, and other key inputs.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports, financial analyses, schedules, exhibits, and supporting documentation.
  • Review client financial information and identify unusual trends, inconsistencies, and items requiring additional investigation.
  • Communicate with clients and management teams to obtain financial, operational, and industry information necessary to complete engagements.
  • Assist Managers and Partners with client meetings, presentations, and discussions regarding valuation conclusions and methodologies.
  • Manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review work prepared by Associates and provide guidance, feedback, and technical support.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior valuation professionals.
  • Maintain appropriate engagement documentation and ensure work complies with professional standards and firm policies.
  • Stay current on valuation methodologies, accounting standards, tax regulations, industry trends, and relevant market conditions.
  • Participate in business development activities, including preparing proposals, presentations, and other materials for prospective clients.
  • Perform other valuation and financial advisory projects as assigned.
