Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst
We're partnering with a client we've worked with for over 8 years, built on a strong professional relationship, and countless lasting full-time new hires. They are a multi-billion dollar, world renowned professional services organization with a global footprint spanning dozens of offices and thousands of professionals across multiple continents.
This organization is known for setting the bar in its industry, and the technology team behind it is growing fast, actively investing in financial governance, disciplined forecasting, and AI-driven process improvement. This is a newly created seat with direct visibility to senior IT leadership and real room to shape how the function runs going forward.
This role requires onsite attendance at their downtown Chicago office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, WFH Monday and Friday.
About the Role:You’ll be the financial partner embedded inside a large, complex IT organization, owning budgeting, forecasting, and investment governance across a technology portfolio worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This is a true people-manager seat from day one, not an analyst role with a bigger title.
- Own budget vs actual tracking, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles across a large, multi cost center technology portfolio
- Present to global business stakeholders, helping them understand not only the numbers but the 'why' behind them
- Dig into the drivers behind the numbers and build forward-looking assessments leadership can actually act on
- Review and validate the financial logic behind major technology investments and business cases before they move forward
- Partner closely with Vendor Management and Procurement on contract financials, proposal evaluation, and spend tracking
- Lead operational execution of financial operations initiatives, including cloud spend visibility and cost governance
- Hire, manage, and develop a direct report from day one, with a real path to grow the team over time
- Present financial findings, risks, and recommendations directly to senior leadership on a recurring basis
- Build and improve the financial processes, templates, and tools this function runs on, not just maintain what already exists
- Advanced Excel modeling, financial reporting, and BI tools
- Formal procure-to-pay and vendor management platforms
- AI tools applied directly to financial workflows and reporting
- Enterprise-scale, multi cost center technology budgets spanning infrastructure, cloud, software licensing, labor, and project investment
- Strong financial and modeling skills paired with real stakeholder influence, not just spreadsheet delivery
- Comfortable digging into the 'why' behind the numbers and filling in gaps with logic when information is incomplete
- Confident enough to hold a position under executive pushback, while staying approachable and collaborative
- Genuinely invested in developing people, not just reviewing their work
- Looking for a long-term seat with real growth potential inside a growing organization
