The Commercial Deposits Officer is responsible for opening deposit accounts for new and existing commercial clients. This role manages the end-to-end internal and external account onboarding experience, including commercial treasury management services and digital provisioning.
The position is the central Officer for opening commercial deposit accounts, working closely with lending and commercial banking teams to support customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand deposit balances and product usage. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound judgment, product knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate and support both internal teams and external clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Open deposit accounts for commercial clients, including treasury management services
- Implement and ensure compliance with account opening procedures, policies, and guidelines during the client onboarding experience
- Cross-sell and assist clients with the bank’s deposit and treasury management services, including digital banking, mobile banking, ACH origination, Positive Pay, wire transfer and remote deposit capabilities
- Collect and maintain signature cards and all documents needed for clients and account relationships
- Support business growth initiative for deposits
- Support commercial development efforts related to new deposit relationships and growth initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve reporting, processes, and overall deposit operations
This job has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred
- Prior experience in banking, deposit operations, treasury management, or commercial banking preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and customer service and relationship building
- Strong understanding of deposit products, account management, and banking procedures
- Knowledge of digital banking platforms and treasury services preferred
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements preferred
