DW Simpson seeks a Senior Managing Actuary to lead complex actuarial projects for insurance, reinsurance, and consulting clients within the professional, scientific, and technical services space. In this leadership role, you will oversee pricing, reserving, capital, and risk analyses; guide model development; and translate results into actionable recommendations. You will mentor junior actuaries, collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, and ensure work meets professional and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead actuarial analysis to support pricing, reserving, and risk management for insurance and consulting clients
  • Develop, review, and enhance financial models, projections, and scenario analyses
  • Provide strategic guidance on capital management, profitability, and portfolio optimization
  • Oversee and mentor junior actuarial staff, ensuring technical accuracy and professional development
  • Collaborate with clients, internal consultants, and stakeholders to define project scope and deliverables
  • Communicate complex actuarial findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and internal controls
  • Contribute to business development through proposal support, presentations, and thought leadership
