Life Actuary Senior Consultant

DW Simpson seeks a Life Actuary Senior Consultant to provide expert actuarial consulting across life insurance and annuity products. In this role, you will lead pricing, valuation, and financial modeling projects, support assumption setting, and analyze experience studies for insurers and corporate clients. You will develop and review models in tools such as Excel, R, or Python, prepare presentations and client-ready reports, and contribute to regulatory and statutory reporting work.

You will also mentor junior staff, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help enhance internal methodologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead life insurance and annuity pricing, valuation, and financial modeling projects
• Perform experience studies, assumption setting, and scenario testing
• Develop and maintain actuarial models using Excel, R, Python, or similar tools
• Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and documentation
• Support statutory, GAAP, and regulatory reporting initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and client teams on project scoping and delivery
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior actuarial staff
• Contribute to methodology development and best-practice frameworks
• Assist in developing analytical insights to support client decisions
• Ensure work meets professional and regulatory actuarial standards
