The Senior Financial Planning Associate supports multiple Wealth Advisors by helping them develop, define, and execute financial planning strategies using the firm's planning tools and resources. This role plays a central part in the client service model, acting as a trusted resource to advisors and a coordinating partner across internal departments to ensure client requests and planning strategies are carried out accurately and efficiently.
As the Senior Financial Planning Associate becomes fully trained across all systems and processes, they will begin taking on their own clients and building the foundation of a personal practice, progressing toward a Wealth Advisor role.
- Support multiple Wealth Advisors by helping them develop and define financial planning strategies tailored to each client's goals and circumstances.
- Utilize the firm's planning tools and resources, including Money Guide Elite and Orion, to build, analyze, and present financial plans.
- Effectively support and reinforce the firm's client service model, ensuring a consistent and high-quality client experience across all advisor relationships.
- Partner with internal departments (e.g., operations, trading, client service) to execute client requests and implement financial planning strategies.
- Prepare meeting materials, plan updates, and follow-up documentation in support of advisor-client meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, planning activity, and follow-up items in Salesforce.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead client meetings and check-ins in person, via Zoom and phone calls.
- Once fully trained on all systems and processes, begin taking on individual clients and building a personal practice under advisor and firm guidance.
- Stay current on tax, estate, and financial planning concepts to provide sound, well-informed recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in financial planning, consumer economics, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in financial planning or a related field, preferably in a client-facing role.
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) or other accredited designation required.
- Proficiency in financial planning software such as Money Guide Pro .
- Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, including tax and estate planning.
- Desire to grow into a Wealth Advisor role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong ethics and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and acting in clients' best interests.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and explain financial concepts clearly.
