Position Overview
Help develop and coordinate grassroots legislative and political activities in the six Great Lakes states:
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with members of Congress and their district, state, and Hill staff.
- Develop, sustain, and deepen relationships with state, regional, and local chambers.
- Engage in the political process, including supporting the Chamber's political endorsement efforts.
- Represent the Chamber and frequently provide remarks at meetings and events throughout the region and in Washington D.C.
- Conduct outreach to Chamber members to enhance the legislative agenda and provide membership services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other teams throughout the Chamber, including Government Affairs, Policy, Communications, Political Affairs, and state and local/Federation.
- Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years' experience working in a congressional office, lobbying, working on a campaign, or engaging in a similar environment.
- Political or legislative connections in one or more of the Great Lakes states.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
The salary range for this position is $83,498.00 to $. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant's qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
