Position Overview Under general direction, performs a wide variety of technical and legal duties in the Cannabis Unit within Administration Section of the Office of Legal Affairs. Provides legal counsel and assistance, conducts extensive and complex legal research and/or studies, provides subject matter guidance on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, provides support to the Rules Coordinator in the revision of rules for the administration of cannabis law and rules, and prepares legal positions relative to certain legislation.

Serves as a spokesperson for the Department, confers with the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and prepares, reviews, and coordinates contracts entered into by the Department.
