DutiesAs the Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) of the Office of Program and Project Management within the Public Buildings Service (PBS), you will serve as a strategic leader who supports the management of construction programs and projects, while acting as a critical link between congressional funding, federal agency requirements, infrastructure development, and PBS staff. The DAC ensures that each program or project meets functional requirements, maximizes long‑term value, and upholds rigorous budget and design standards.
Responsibilities- Lead change and develop innovative solutions to complex programmatic challenges, translating high‑level strategic goals into actionable initiatives and partnering with the Assistant Commissioner (AC) to implement national strategies.
- Adapt to changing client requirements, identify new opportunities, and make strategic decisions that advance overall agency goals.
- Make high‑level data‑driven decisions regarding programmatic operations, building coalitions to ensure effectiveness in accomplishing major internal and external priorities.
- Develop a risk assessment framework for the program office, establishing accountability mechanisms, metrics, and best‑practice standards to meet federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure cost‑effective program execution by identifying and implementing cost‑saving initiatives and exercising fiscal responsibility and strategic financial management.
PBS will host a hiring information session to review the role, PBS mission, GSA organization, and the SES application process. The session is scheduled for Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 am (EST).
