Transportation and Tourism Policy Analyst Washington, DC

Transportation and Tourism Policy Analyst Washington, DC@Orchard LLC has been retained by a growing Federal contractor with a great culture to identify a Transportation and Tourism Policy Analyst for a newly awarded contract. The skilled Transportation and Tourism Policy Analyst will provide expert, authoritative advice, and assistance in managing the volume and assignments of correspondence across all DOT offices.

As the Transportation and Tourism Policy Analyst you will;

  • Support the DOT National Advisory Committee on Travel and Tourism Infrastructure (NACTTI), including meeting coordination, communications, materials, and participation.
  • Monitor and analyze travel, tourism, and transportation policy trends, DOT programs, and emerging priorities.
  • Conduct research and develop analyses, briefs, and recommendations related to multimodal transportation, tourism, infrastructure, and funding needs.
  • Support development and implementation of DOT travel and tourism strategic plans and priority initiatives.
  • Coordinate with DOT offices, federal agencies, international partners, and industry stakeholders on transportation and tourism policy matters.
  • Plan and facilitate stakeholder meetings, events, outreach campaigns, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Develop executive-level materials, including briefing papers, reports, speeches, fact sheets, toolkits, talking points, and Q&A.
  • Support domestic and international engagement on intermodal, cross-border, and multimodal transportation issues, including occasional travel.
  • Perform additional transportation and tourism policy, research, and administrative support as assigned.

Your background qualifications will include the following;

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation and tourism policy.
  • Strong knowledge of travel and tourism policy, multimodal transportation, intermodal connectivity, cross-border mobility, and related infrastructure issues.
  • Experience supporting interagency coordination and engaging government, industry, and international stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct policy, programmatic, technical, and quantitative research and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings, presentations, reports, and policy materials.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, problem-solving, collaboration, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, audience-appropriate products.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
