The Hairstylist role at Salon Aken is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Chicago Area. The Hairstylist will provide haircuts, coloring, styling, and treatments using Aveda products and techniques, ensuring each client receives tailored and professional service. Daily responsibilities include consulting with clients about their hair goals, recommending appropriate services and products, and maintaining a clean, organized station. The role also involves building long-term client relationships, supporting salon promotions and social media initiatives, and collaborating with the salon team to deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

Adherence to salon standards, safety protocols, and state cosmetology regulations is expected.

• Strong hair styling and hair care skills, including cutting, coloring, and treatments for diverse hair types.
• Formal cosmetology training and a current state cosmetology license (or eligibility to obtain one in Illinois).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to provide consultations, explain services, and build client loyalty.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based salon environment and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture.
• Basic product knowledge, preferably with Aveda or similar professional brands, and willingness to learn new techniques.
• Strong attention to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in line with state and salon requirements.
• Availability to work a full-time schedule, including peak hours such as evenings and weekends as needed.
• Previous salon or hairstyling experience in a professional setting is highly beneficial.
