Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Shift Option 1: Day Shift | 3×12 hours (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Shift Option 2: Night Shift | 3×12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced critical care environment within a Level I Trauma Center
. This role requires strong critical care skills, the ability to manage complex patient conditions, and flexibility to float across multiple ICU units as needed to support staffing requirements.

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU – Multi-Specialty)
• ICU Float Units May Include:
• Medical ICU (MICU)
• Surgical ICU (SICU)
• Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)
• Burn ICU
• Charting System: Cerner (required)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided)

• Mandatory floating within scope to meet facility needs (including up to 50 miles)
• Orientation and precepting shifts conducted on day shift during the first week

• Deliver comprehensive critical care to high-acuity ICU patients
• Perform advanced patient assessments and manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP support
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage ventilator settings
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and invasive monitoring devices
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and rapid clinical deterioration
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Strong experience with ventilator management and titration of vasoactive drips
• Ability and willingness to float within scope as required
