## Director of Clinical Education - Illinois

The Chicago School is hiring a Director of Clinical Education to serve as a critical leader in assisting in developing and maintaining clinical training for Illinois

COM students in the 3 years of medical education.

The Director role offers a unique opportunity to lead the integration of clinical experiences and academic rigor, ensuring the development of competent, compassionate, and patient-centered physicians. Responsible for managing partner relationships, overseeing clinical rotation quality, and ensuring accreditation compliance, the Director will navigate affiliation agreements, expand clinical rotation opportunities, supervise administrative staff, and develop educational programs for students. This pivotal role requires meticulous attention to detail to maintain current agreements and ensure alignment with clinical education goals.

The Illinois

COM is located in Chicago, IL. This is initially a hybrid role but will shift to being in-person full-time at our Chicago campus beginning April 1, 2026. Travel to support clinical site development, program management, and accreditation activities is required and can vary in frequency as these activities vary throughout the year. The Director will report to the Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
** PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
** Interface with partner hospitals and clinical sites to ensure students meet onboarding requirements before beginning a rotation.

Assist the Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs in coordinating, collecting, and documenting data and information related to meeting clinical education accreditation requirements.

Visit affiliate hospitals and clinical sites to meet with students and academic and administrative staff consistent with accreditation requirements.

Work with affiliated hospitals' academic and administrative staff to expand rotations and create new opportunities for core clerkship and fourth-year students.

Ensure development and implementation of clinical education policies, processes, course syllabi, Clinical Rotation Manual, and other clinical education curricular documents.

Manage clinical rotations in LMS and other software as needed to ensure consistent communication of course expectations across clinical rotations, maintain clinical rotation schedules, ensure timely submission of course grades, and other clinical education curricular requirements.regarding clinical education questions and concerns.  year curricular requirements. This includes but is not limited to visiting clinical training sites and serving as a point of contact for students Support Senior Assoicate Dean of Clinical Affairs in developing, implementing, and maintaining clinical education strategic initiatives and programs.

Supervise administrative staff in the Department of Clinical Education.
Ensure clinical education data and narratives to support accreditation requirements are maintained and completed in a timely manner.

Manage implementation of clinical education activities and ensure efficient workflow.

* BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

** Five (5) years of experience in clinical education at an LCME or COCA-accredited medical school.
** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
** Experience with diverse populations, awareness of one’s attitudes, beliefs, biases, and assumptions about others, and a record of respect and openness towards people whose social and cultural background is different from one’s own. The ability to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environment within the college.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.  Exceptional time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with an array of technology platforms.
