General SummaryResponsible for the daily operations of the retail pharmacy. The pharmacist will also provide clinical pharmacy services, as assigned. The pharmacist will manage the pharmacy staff, oversee inventory, and maintain understanding of 340B programs. The pharmacist will maintain knowledge necessary to provide patient care in the retail and clinic setting, as well as provide excellent patient experience. The pharmacist will process prescriptions and/or provide clinical services as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required (Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) preferred). - Experience:
1 year experience as a Pharmacist preferred; pharmacy residency will fulfill this requirement.
- Carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Clinic time will be typical clinic setting.
- Walking approximately 30 minutes per hour throughout the day.
- Withstanding pressure and deals with emergency situations as needed.
- Average working hours with possible non-traditional hours.
- Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Ability to deal with upset or disgruntled patients in order to deescalate the situation.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and hold various objects.
- Maintain departmental communications by holding meetings and responding to written and/or verbal questions and concerns in a timely manner.
- Manage pharmacy-related financials, and collaborate for continued growth.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain a high standard of performance. Coordinate and share internal resources with other departments as appropriate.
- Provide leadership and direction for achieving high quality customer service, high levels of patient satisfaction, meeting patient enrollment goals, and addressing patient concerns and complaints.
- Oversee medication inventory and ordering. Maintain appropriate inventory levels, participate in management, and collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy in order to optimize processes.
- Process and dispense prescription orders, ensuring safe practices, and avoidance of errors.
- Counsel patients regarding prescribed medications.
- Administer vaccines and long acting injectables.
- Administer clinical pharmacy services, including MTM, wellness, pharmacy consultation visits, and medication adjustments within collaborative practice agreements.
- Maintain necessary knowledge in order to provide appropriate clinical services as assigned.
- Maintain understanding of 340B programs.
- Lead by example in setting high standards of patient care and experience.
- Complete appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Participate in continuing education in the form of research, department education sessions, etc.
- Provide patient education to groups of patients.
- Understand and provide guidance on all necessary patient assistance services to ensure patients access to prescribed medications.
