POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist (OT) in the acute care hospital setting is responsible for the evaluation and assessment of ADL performance and functional mobility, effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services under an established plan of care, and timely documentation of services. The OT consults with other members of their patients’ medical teams and collaborates with the patient and/or their support system to promote the highest level of safety and independence.
QualificationsSPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- They must have a valid and unencumbered Occupational Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.
- They must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards.
- They must have current registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- They must have a current CPR Certification.
- At least one year of clinical experience within the acute care setting is required.
