Position Summary

This position contributes to the design & delivery of a lifestyle/nutrition program as part of a research project and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute, and interpret research projects, including nutrition education with human research subjects, subject eligibility screening and recruitment and complex data collection methods for clinical trials and cohort studies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement a lifestyle/weight loss intervention for obese adults aged 50-80 via synchronous remote and in-person interactions.
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of lifestyle interventions including ordering supplies and reviewing content to assess dose consistency across arms.
  • Communicate progress, successes and issues with intervention in a timely fashion to study leadership, inkling the study manager and the PI’s.
  • Teaching a nutrition lifestyle curriculum in-person and virtual in a group setting to older adults in Chicago.
  • Track individual dietary and exercise changes for those research participants.
  • Perform all screening interviews, observations and entry/collection/verification of accuracy/cleaning /management in compliance with the BRIDGE & Friends research project and IRB regulations.
  • Maintain written records of participant progress.
  • Assist in conceptualizing, developing, revising, and maintaining databases and study records.
  • Recruit study participants and conduct informed consent.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • Experience in community-based health education.
  • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Entry level knowledge of research methods.
