Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech) to join our healthcare team. The Surgical Tech will play a critical role in supporting surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, ensuring sterile conditions, and assisting with instruments and equipment. This position requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly prior to procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain sterile fields and follow strict infection control protocols.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure patient safety and prevent retained items.
- Transport patients and help with positioning as needed.
- Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth surgical workflows.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in an operating room or surgical setting (preferred; new graduates welcome to apply).
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high‑pressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or equivalent (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
