• Reports all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• Maintains Telemetry Supplies.
• Identify normal and abnormal EKG rhythm pattern.
• Assess and document EKG rhythm abnormalities. Notify appropriate healthcare professional in a timely manner.
• Place patients on monitoring system according to facility’s policy and procedures.
• Adapts behavior as needed to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• A successful test score (greater than 90%) on interpretation of cardiac rhythms and rhythm components is a requirement for initial employment.

Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
