Job Description

The Program Manager for the Beacon Child Population Health Think Tank leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that advance child population health through research and innovation. This role collaborates with internal and external experts, manages complex interdependent projects, and supports research, data-driven policy recommendations, and funding efforts to improve health outcomes for all children.

Essential Job Functions
  • Leads the development, implementation, and management of strategic child population health initiatives that align with research institute and health system goals, including defining scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource needs.
  • Coordinates and integrates interdependent projects across departments, divisions, and investigators, ensuring alignment and collaboration among institutional, community, and governmental partners.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness using objective metrics and collaborator feedback.
  • Tracks emerging issues, conducts literature reviews, and maintains a repository of relevant policies and peer‑reviewed research.
  • Prepares and disseminates high-quality written materials, including policy briefs, manuscript sections, fact sheets, community-facing reports, and program updates.
  • Provides financial and operational oversight, including regular status reports to leadership and support for identifying and pursuing federal and foundation funding opportunities.
  • Serves as a liaison and trusted collaborator between internal teams and external partners to advance shared population health goals.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned by population health leadership, including support for special projects.
  • The authority to hire, separate, promote, demote, write and administer performance evaluations.

Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Education
    • Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration
    • None required.
  • Years of Relevant Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, public health, health policy, or a related area.
  • Computer Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project).
    • Ability to use literature databases (e.g., Pub Med) and data visualization tools.
  • Other Skills (Required)
    • Strong understanding of population health principles, health systems, and policy development.
    • Excellent analytical, evaluation, and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-component projects and budgets.
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Other Skills (Preferred)
    • Knowledge of child population health issues and emerging trends.
    • Experience with community-based participatory research or systems-level change.
    • Familiarity with academic publishing and manuscript preparation.
    • Grant writing and funding opportunity identification.
Education Pay Range

$70,720.00-$

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
