Travel LPN - LPN

American Traveler is seeking an experienced LPN for a medical-surgical assignment in a correctional facility, requiring an active Illinois license and recent acute care or ambulatory experience.

Job Details

• Work in a correctional facility medical-surgical unit,

• Patients include adult correctional population requiring med-surg level care,

• Night shift schedule, five 8-hour shifts per week (23:00-07:30),

• Mandatory float policy requiring flexibility to work within scope across various units and potentially within a 50-mile radius,

• Every other weekend required, with no block scheduling or special requests approved,

• Uses Cerner for charting; previous experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program,

• Current Illinois LPN license or ability to obtain by two weeks prior to assignment start (License required if applicable),

• Current CPR certification required,

• Documentation of completed coursework in medication administration per Illinois IDFPR requirements,

• Minimum one year of recent full-time paid clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting is preferred,

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccine required,

Additional Information

• Must be willing and able to float to other units and facilities as needed,

• Navy blue scrubs required,

• Free, first-come, first-served parking available,

• No more than 5 days of requested time off, with a maximum of 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, holidays, or directly before/after holidays,

• Non-compliance with floating or required lab work timelines may result in contract cancellation,

• Strict compliance required with all onboarding and immunization timelines,
