Are you a compassionate and skilled Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist looking to make a significant impact in a diverse community? Medix is seeking a dedicated professional for our confidential client, a leading public health system in Chicago/Cook County, Illinois. This vital role provides essential outpatient behavioral health services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.

This is an opportunity to provide initial psychiatric consultations, crisis management, psychotherapy, and supportive care under the direction of ambulatory providers. Join a team committed to delivering high-quality mental health support to the residents of Cook County.

What You'll Do:

• Direct Patient Care: Provide initial psychiatric consultations, supportive psychotherapy, and crisis management for patients with various mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Assessment & Treatment: Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders, determine safety, and recommend outpatient treatment.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with providers, psychiatric consultants, and other mental health professionals to coordinate care, support medication management, and facilitate treatment plan changes.
• Evidence-Based Interventions: Deliver brief interventions using techniques like Behavioral Activation, Problem-Solving Treatment, or Motivational Interviewing.
• Mentorship & Development: Mentor staff on clinical cases and professional development, staying current on evidence-based practices and relevant policies.

What You'll Bring:

• Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a clinical concentration in mental health.
• Licensure: Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFP) in the State of Illinois, or the ability to obtain licensure two weeks prior to starting.
• Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing individual therapy for individuals with mental illness in a mental health setting (internship experience counts!). Experience using evidence-based counseling techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy).
• Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Preferred: Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and experience working with co-occurring mental health, substance abuse, and physical health problems.
