Director, Medical

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director, Medical for our medical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical science, excellent communication skills, and a passion for translating complex medical information into impactful advertising. As the Director, Medical, you will oversee all medical content, ensure scientific accuracy, and collaborate with creative and account teams to develop effective campaigns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consult with Creative, Account, and Planning teams to develop compelling medical content across all digital and print media
  • Identify new medical advances and opportunities, and implement disease‑state knowledge to drive promotional efforts
  • Analyze clinical data, conduct literature searches, participate in medical conferences, and perform competitive analyses
  • Engage and inform colleagues, healthcare professionals, and clients, including medical, legal, and regulatory groups
  • Collaborate in the development of EVERSANA INTOUCH POVs and recommendations with clients
  • Ensure medical communications and promotional pieces meet and surpass marketing team objectives
  • Guide the creation of clinically cogent and engaging promotional and KOL materials while ensuring effective use of clinical data to reach strategic brand objectives
  • Improve medical literacy across contributing agency teams; provide medical understanding on disease states, clinical trials, treatments, and competition
  • Guide submissions for client medical/regulatory approval processes and help incorporate client and regulatory feedback
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • M.D., Ph.D., or Pharm.

    D. required with 5+ years of experience in an agency or pharmaceutical industry supporting scientific communications, medical affairs, or medical education
  • A passion for science, medicine, and innovation, with a proven track record of communicating medical advances to different audiences
  • Ability to lead and execute development of content, including data analysis for a wide range of complex projects with minimal review or direction
  • Ability to independently and accurately incorporate strategic concepts into projects, as well as guide others to do so
  • Understanding of clinical practice, with the ability to perform scientific literature searches and interpret complex clinical data into compelling stories (copy)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills; insightful data analysis and presentation abilities
  • Insightful with a problem‑solving, solution‑oriented mindset; comfortable with leading client interactions and defending work and opinions
  • Familiarity with FDA marketing regulations, AMA style, and digital best practices
  • Willingness to travel is a requirement
