Pharmacy Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Reviews, processes, and modifies, as necessary, all medication orders to maintain a current and accurate medication profile.
  • Supervises, directs and reviews all activities involved with the compounding, storing, inventory, labeling, recording, or preparing medications by pharmacy technicians.
  • Monitors drug therapies to evaluate appropriateness of use, dose, dosage form, regimen, route, therapeutic levels, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplication.
  • Monitors the use of drugs for compliance with prescribing criteria, guidelines, formulary, and protocols established by Norwegian American Hospital.
  • Detects, monitors, documents and reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
  • Serves as a resource of drug information for all practitioners and patients (i.e. drug identification, side effects, adverse events, interactions, medication counseling, etc.).
  • Participates in pharmacy quality assessment/performance improvement (QA/PI) projects and/or initiatives.
  • Assures proper control, documentation, and record keeping of controlled substances.
  • Ensures all state and federal regulatory requirements are maintained.
Position Requirements
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Pharmacist licensure required.
