Offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, as well as a 40‑bed Skilled Nursing Unit providing Long‑term Care and Short‑term, sub‑acute rehab services.

Pay range

$17.50‑$18.50 per hour based on experience

About the Position

This staff member is responsible for assisting residents of the Assisted Living Community with activities of daily living and with scheduled social activity programs.

Overall responsibilities
  • Assist resident with the resident's activities of daily living, which include, but are not limited to, bathing, dressing, dining, grooming, mobility and continence
  • Promote resident's independence by assisting residents with tasks in a way that allows the resident to do for themselves what they are able to do and allows the residents to make their own choices
  • Assist in planning the daily schedule of care on the unit
  • Follow the resident's Services Provided By Form and offer feedback about the resident's comfort and clinical needs
  • Accurately and effectively document resident's daily needs on the unit’s 24 hour report and in other written communications
  • Responsible for notifying the Program Director of any significant change in the physical or mental status of a resident
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing the resident’s apartment including emptying the resident's personal trash as well as cleaning up spills and messes
  • Work together with the housekeeping department on the resident's daily cleaning
  • Prepare and serve food in the resident’s dining room
    - Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room areas including washing dishes, table linens and napkins after every meal
  • Work together with the dining department on the inventory of the catered living unit pantry
  • Assist in planning social activity programs for the unit
    - Encourage the residents to participate in the activity program and facilitate daily activities based on calendar
General Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the business with the highest practical standards
  • Participate in and maintain current status on all training and education required by the company
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the staff, residents and business partners
  • Provide feedback to others for continuous quality improvement of the entire organization
  • Openly accept feedback from others for the continuous quality improvement of the entire organization
  • Escalate issues when there is appearance that business standards of quality are not present
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of the organization, including HIPAA and safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated interest in working with the senior population
  • Responsible for meeting and maintaining certification requirements (First Aid and CPR)
  • Ability to work some holidays and weekends

Preferred:

  • Experience working with people with dementia
  • Related experience working in a Continuing Care Retirement Community
Essential Qualifications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
