• Join a Mission-Driven Organization What You’ll Do As a Counselor, in conjunction with supervisor and treatment team, you will provide chemical dependency counseling services to patients and their families/collaterals through assessment and design, implementation, and revision of treatment plan. And, you will and provide group and individual counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis intervention services to clients with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Complete assessment of each client Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment. Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client. Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups. Who We’re Looking For You may be a great fit if you are:

Required:

IAODAPCA certification as CERTIFIED ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG COUNSELOR (CADC) OR IC&RC Counselor certification CRADC, CSADC, CAADC or LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC Current licensure, CADC, or IC & RC required LPC or LSW or LCSW or LCPC ( LCPC preferred) Two (2) years’ experience working with Substance abuse. Preferred. Two (2) years of counseling experience. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise discretion and use independent judgment in making decisions.

Qualifications:

Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior. Physical ability to safely and effectively manage aggressive behavior. Assertiveness, confidence and leadership abilities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective time management skills. At least twenty-one (21) years of age Must have a valid Driver's License Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing. Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
