The Home Care Aide is a vital contributor to the well‑being and independence of our senior adults. This role involves providing essential household and personal care under the supervision of the participant, their family members, or authorized representatives, ensuring each individual receives tailored, high‑quality assistance. By carrying out tasks outlined in the participant's Plan of Care, the HCA helps clients maintain comfort, dignity, and quality of life in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities- Execute tasks listed in the Plan of Care, ensuring adherence to personalized care plans.
- Perform routine household tasks such as making beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning floors, and maintaining kitchen and bathroom cleanliness.
- Provide shopping assistance for household necessities including food, cleaning supplies, and other items as outlined in the care plan.
- Prepare well‑balanced meals following dietary plans and guidelines specified in the authorized care plan.
- Assist participants with personal care tasks such as shaving, shampooing, bathing, shower/tub assistance, dressing, and dental hygiene, maintaining dignity and comfort.
- Assist with self‑administered medication by reminding participants, reading instructions, and uncapping medication containers.
- Accompany participants to medical facilities, shopping, errands, and other activities as specified in the Plan of Care, ensuring safety and companionship.
- Monitor participants' functioning and report any concerns or changes to the Field Supervisor.
- Attend at least 12 hours of in‑service training each year to enhance caregiving skills.
- Support additional responsibilities as needed to align with CASL’s evolving needs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin);
English proficiency is a plus. - At least one year of experience in a comparable human service capacity or caregiving for a dependent child or adult family member.
- Knowledge and skills in housekeeping, food preparation, personal care, and senior care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
- Must complete 24 hours of pre‑service training and obtain a certificate.
