Home Care Aide – Job Summary

CASL is seeking a dedicated Home Care Aide to provide compassionate, high‑quality care to senior adults in our community. The role involves delivering personalized assistance under the guidance of the participant’s care plan, fostering dignity, independence, and overall well‑being.

• $19.50 per hour
• Flexible scheduling to fit your availability
• $200 internal referral bonus after 90 days of employment
• Comprehensive training and ongoing support from CASL
• Paid sick leave in accordance with Cook County ordinance; additional benefits may be available based on hours worked and tenure

• Execute tasks listed in each participant’s Plan of Care while ensuring adherence to personalized care plans.
• Perform routine household tasks such as making beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, and maintaining kitchen and bathroom cleanliness.
• Provide shopping assistance for household necessities, including food and cleaning supplies.
• Prepare well‑balanced meals following dietary plans and guidelines specified in the authorized care plan.
• Assist participants with personal care tasks, including shaving, hair shampooing, bathing, showering, dressing, and dental hygiene under specific direction.
• Assist with self‑administered medication by reminding participants, reading instructions, and uncapping medication containers.
• Accompany participants to medical facilities, shopping, errands, and other activities as required by the Plan of Care, ensuring safety and companionship.
• Monitor participants’ functioning and report any concerns or changes to the Field Supervisor to support proactive care management.
• Attend at least 12 hours of in‑service training each year to enhance skills and knowledge in caregiving.
• Contribute to additional responsibilities as needed to support in‑home care participants and organizational goals.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish;
  English proficiency is a plus.
• At least one year of experience in a comparable human‑services role or caregiving for a dependent child or adult family member.
• Knowledge and skills in housekeeping, food preparation, and personal care.
• Experience in senior care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
• Completion of 24 hours of pre‑service training and receipt of a certification.
