• Emergency Medical Response

This position requires the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver patients and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. EMTs must frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach while providing emergency care, often in physically demanding and high-stress situations. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are essential for operating medical equipment and performing life-saving procedures. Adequate visual and auditory acuity is necessary to assess patients and respond effectively to emergencies.

The work environment varies widely and includes hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, and outdoor or uncontrolled settings.

EMTs are regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, poor lighting, inclement weather, and potentially hazardous conditions. There is a high risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, and airborne pathogens, requiring strict adherence to OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines.

The role may involve irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. EMTs must remain calm, focused, and effective in emotionally charged and unpredictable environments.
