* * ATURE OF WORK Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail oriented Operating Room Scrub Technician to support safe, efficient, and high‐quality surgical care. The Scrub Technician functions as a key member of the surgical team by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies; maintaining a sterile environment; and assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. This role also supports Sterile Processing functions, ensuring surgical instrumentation is properly cleaned, sterilized, stored, and distributed according to established standards.
The Scrub Technician contributes to a clean, organized, and patient‐centered environment, demonstrates professionalism, and upholds FMH’s commitment to compassionate care, teamwork, and service excellence.
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Scrub for assigned surgical cases and assist with instrumentation, supplies, and equipment throughout procedures.
* Clean Operating Rooms between cases and perform terminal cleaning after the final case or on‐call procedures following established policies.
* Clean, wrap, sterilize, distribute, and store surgical instrumentation and reusable equipment according to standards and departmental procedures.
* Provide appropriately cleaned and prepared reusable equipment for clinical units.
* Proactively assume additional responsibilities and assist team members without prompting.
** COMPENSATION:** $22.00 – $33.50 per hour

Qualifications
** EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS**

* Required:
** Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois, Current BLS Certification.
** EXPERIENCE**
* ** Preferred:
** 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience;
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
** SKILLS
* ** Ability to complete precertifications and referrals efficiently.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Ability to build positive communication with physicians and work collaboratively as a team.
* Consistently conveys a professional demeanor.
* Ability to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.
* Effective communication in person, by phone, and in writing.
