Child and Family Therapist

The organization is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Child & Family Therapist to provide high-quality behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families throughout Chicago's South Side communities. This clinician will play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that promotes emotional well-being, strengthens family functioning, and supports long-term recovery and resilience.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team, the Child & Family Therapist will complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy, and coordinate care with schools, healthcare providers, community agencies, and family supports. • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and risk assessments for children, adolescents, and families.
• Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans that address behavioral health needs, family dynamics, and measurable treatment goals.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities.
• Monitor treatment progress, evaluate clinical outcomes, and adjust treatment interventions as appropriate.
• Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk assessments when clinically indicated.
• Educate clients and families regarding behavioral health conditions, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and community resources.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, schools, community organizations, and other treatment providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and clinical case consultations.
• Assist families in accessing community resources and addressing barriers related to housing, transportation, education, insurance, and other social determinants of health.
• Advocate for children and families to improve access to behavioral health and supportive services.

• Complete timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record.
• Maintain documentation that meets organizational, state, federal, Medicaid, and accreditation standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, mandated reporting requirements, organizational policies, and applicable behavioral health regulations.

• Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Maintain ethical standards and professional licensure requirements.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and organizational efforts to enhance clinical outcomes and client engagement.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Illinois clinical licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist) or license eligibility as required by the position required.
• Experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families required.
• Knowledge of child development, family systems, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with clients, families, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working within community mental health, FQHC, CCBHC, or integrated behavioral health settings.
• Experience serving underserved, culturally diverse, or high-acuity populations.
