Dietary Aide

RYZE West is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. The Dietary Aide plays an important role in supporting our residents by assisting with meal preparation, food service, sanitation, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review, prepare, and serve meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and residents' special diet orders.
  • Prepare and serve nutritional bedtime snacks and appropriate substitute foods for residents who refuse meals or specific menu items.
  • Ensure food, equipment, and supplies are properly prepared, stored, maintained, and handled in accordance with applicable sanitary and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment while following infection control and food safety procedures.
  • Perform dishwashing and kitchen cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks and refreshments to residents as instructed.
  • Deliver food carts and meal trays and assist with serving food and beverages in the dining room.
  • Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen, dish room, and other assigned areas.
  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and dietary department standards.
  • Work cooperatively with dietary and nursing staff to help ensure residents' nutritional and dining needs are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor or Director of Dietary Services.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred/required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Previous food service, dietary, healthcare, or long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must demonstrate a professional, respectful, and compassionate approach when interacting with residents.
  • Must maintain the proper care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas.
  • Must possess patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm when working with residents.
  • Must be willing to learn and incorporate new methods, procedures, and best practices related to food service and resident care.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
