Home Care Aide – Join CASL
Join CASL as a Home Care Aide to provide compassionate, high‑quality care for senior adults in their own homes while receiving competitive pay and benefits. Key Responsibilities- Direct Participant Care:
Execute tasks listed in the participant’s Plan of Care, ensuring adherence to personalized care plans. - Household Assistance:
Perform routine household duties such as making beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning floors, and maintaining kitchen and bathroom cleanliness. - Household Shopping:
Provide assistance for purchasing household necessities, including foods and cleaning supplies as outlined by the authorized care plan. - Meal Preparation:
Prepare balanced meals that follow dietary plans and guidelines specified in the authorized care plan. - Personal Care Support:
Aid participants with personal hygiene tasks such as shaving, brushing teeth, bathing, dressing, and dental hygiene under specific direction. - Medication Reminders:
Assist with self‑administered medications by reading instructions and uncapping medication containers, following prescribed care plans. - Accompaniment and Support:
Accompany participants to medical facilities, shopping, errands, and other activities specified in the Plan of Care to ensure safety and companionship. - Observation and Reporting:
Monitor participants’ functioning and report concerns or changes to the Field Supervisor. - Training and Development:
Attend a minimum of 12 hours of in‑service training each year to enhance caregiving skills. - Additional Responsibilities:
Support In‑Home Care participants and initiatives as needed, ensuring flexibility and alignment with CASL’s evolving goals.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of employment in a comparable human service capacity, or
- At least one year of experience in caregiving for a dependent child or adult family member.
- Knowledge and skills in housekeeping, food preparation, and personal care.
- Experience and skills in senior care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
- Must complete 24 hours of pre‑service training and obtain a certificate upon completion.
- $19.50 per hour.
- Flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
- $200 referral bonus when a referred caregiver completes 90 days of employment.
- Compliance with Cook County’s Paid Sick Leave Ordinance; accrued sick leave for eligible employees.
- Comprehensive training and ongoing support – no prior experience required.
- Opportunities for professional growth and 12 hours of in‑service training annually.
