Cardiac Cath Rad Tec performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/x-ray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technicians. Hours of Operation: 7A-3:30P
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrates responsibility for x-ray equipment and image quality in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
- Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
- Accurately processes images, matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.
- Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.
- Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table panner in all diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Rotates calls for all emergency and add-on procedures.
- Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.
- Adheres to downtime procedures.
- Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Performs both essential and non-essential job functions in a safe manner as identified by CFMC.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and models the mission and core values of CFMC through behavior and attitude.
- Enhances professional growth and development by accessing educational programs, job related literature, in-service meetings, and workshops/seminars.
