Role Description

The Associate Occupational Therapist will provide remote, part time clinical services focused on neurological and complex rehabilitation for private clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed OT assessments, developing individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans, and delivering ongoing therapy sessions that promote functional independence and quality of life. The role involves collaborating with senior therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, document progress, and adjust interventions as needed.

The Associate Occupational Therapist will also provide clear, evidence-informed recommendations, contribute to reports for case managers and solicitors, and support clients and their support networks with education and practical strategies. This position requires strong professional judgment, consistent documentation, and adherence to clinical governance and ethical standards.

Qualifications
  • Clinical expertise and experience in private Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to assess and treat individuals with neurological and complex needs.
  • Foundational knowledge of Medicine related to neurological, stroke, and complex rehabilitation conditions to inform safe, evidence-based practice.
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients, families, case managers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a remote setting.
  • Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current professional registration/licensure (or eligibility) with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Experience in neurorehabilitation, community or private practice settings is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, manage a caseload, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and basic digital tools used for remote assessment and intervention.
  • Commitment to client-centered care, continuous professional development, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Is able to drive and access the community, to be able to see clients.
