Salary Range: $18.70 To $26.18 Hourly

Summary

The Mental Health Response Lead (MHRL) is the central coordination point for all mental health response activities after a mass shooting that occurs within a designated geographic area. It is recommended this role be filled by a direct care crisis counselor (i.e., a Mental Health Professional with a bachelor's degree or higher) who works at least 20 hours/week on the project and ideally resides within the geographic area to be served.

The MHRL will be responsible for implementing the Mental Health Navigation Model as described in the Mental Health Response to Mass Firearm Violence Plan (the Plan)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in mental health support or counseling.
  • Lived experience with gun violence
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Certification in mental health first aid or similar programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Be available 24/7 to coordinate with the designated OFVP Convener(s) who support the community area served, when a mass shooting occurs within the designated geographic area.
  • Develop a local response plan, modeled after the Response Blueprint in the Plan and leveraging resources supplied by DMH.
  • Regularly attend Convener Community Group meetings for the geographic area served and serve as a liaison between the Network and the Convener Community Group.
  • Keep accurate track of event details, records, and tasks, and ensure that all incident reporting is filed in a timely and accurate manner.
