Phlebotomist II

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client's healthcare facility in Chicago, IL 60611.

Schedule:

7am to 8pm.

Location:

Chicago, IL 60611. Job Type: local contract Contract Length: 3 months + Contract to Possible Pay Range: $20/Hr To $23/Hr. Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 Year of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
• Valid state phlebotomy certification where required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• 2–4 years of experience listed as preferred/required in the posting.
