Blue Kite Wellness provides accessible, compassionate, individualized, and holistic mental health services to children, teens, adults, and families. We are seeking an Outpatient Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and day-to-day oversight at the Blue Kite Wellness outpatient location.
The Outpatient Clinical Lead combines direct clinical practice with staff supervision, quality oversight, site leadership, and operational coordination. This position maintains an outpatient therapy caseload while supporting clinicians, interns, and other team members in delivering high-quality, ethical, and compliant care.
As the primary on-site leader, the Clinical Lead helps create a positive and accountable workplace culture while supporting provider capacity, clinician utilization, referral development, and site growth. The balance between direct clinical care and leadership responsibilities will evolve as the location and clinical team grow.
What You’ll DoMaintain an active outpatient therapy caseload in accordance with organizational expectations.
Provide clinical supervision to assigned therapists and interns as permitted by licensure.
Support employees with complex cases, clinical concerns, crisis situations, treatment planning, and higher-risk client needs.
Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, and other client records for quality, medical necessity, completeness, and compliance.
Conduct periodic chart reviews and provide timely coaching, feedback, or corrective guidance when concerns are identified.
Serve as the primary on-site clinical and day-to-day leader for the assigned outpatient location.
Promote employee accountability related to attendance, professionalism, scheduling, productivity, documentation, and adherence to organizational policies.
Coordinate daily site workflow and help resolve clinical, operational, staffing, safety, or facility concerns.
Support the onboarding, orientation, integration, and continued professional development of clinicians and interns.
Monitor provider utilization, caseload growth, employee performance, retention, and progress toward site-capacity goals.
Participate in clinician recruitment, interviewing, performance evaluations, coaching, and performance-improvement efforts.
- Support local marketing, community outreach, referral development, and other initiatives that promote sustainable site growth.
- Partner with Clinical Leadership, Operations, Human Resources, Intake and Scheduling, Billing, Engagement, and other departments to support effective site operations.
- Ensure employees maintain required credentials, training, competencies, and qualifications for their assigned roles.
- Identify and escalate significant clinical, safety, compliance, staffing, or operational concerns and participate in appropriate resolution and follow-up.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
- Active Illinois licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Licensure must remain in good standing, and the candidate must meet all applicable requirements to provide clinical supervision within the scope of the license.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience providing outpatient behavioral health services.
