This position provides excellent customer-focused service handling inbound and outbound telephone calls performing scheduling and registration functions for the Medical Imaging dept. This position maximizes efficiency by facilitating and ensuring the accuracy of the information collected and entered Epic.
Essential Job FunctionsAnswer phone calls for various modalities, X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, etc.; responding to customer requests including, and not limited to medical imaging appointment scheduling, screening, routing calls and registration. Facilitates scheduling of medical imaging procedures for various medical imaging modalities with internal and external providers. Provides physician-patient support using scheduling guidelines and online knowledge-based tools to schedule new and follow up imaging appointments.
Correctly identifies and collects patient demographic information in accordance with organization standards, verifies insurance eligibility and completes registration as needed for families. Transcribes external imaging orders in Epic from right fax and schedule according to the modality requested. Assists in facilitating both electronic and non-electronic communication for families and patients. Provides family pertinent next steps for imaging appointments. Maintains performance metrics related to department and individual performance indicators and all quality goals consistently.

Notify families when HMO referrals are needed for specific imaging exams. Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Assist with training new and current employees as needed. Other job functions as assigned.
High school diploma required. Some college preferred. A minimum of two years of call center or healthcare experience required. Some knowledge of medical terminology is strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word applications such as Outlook and other preferred computer skills. Demonstrates a high level of customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively work with pediatric patients, families, physicians, nursing and other allied health and medical center personnel.
Excellent communication/organizational and prioritization skills needed. Problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in fast paced environment. Requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure of deadlines.
