Position: Front Desk Agent - Soho House Chicago

Front Desk Agent position at Soho House involves assisting with checking members into the property and hotel guests into their rooms, streamlining inquiries, risks, and other matters that arise. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for receiving payments and balancing cash at the end of a shift. They should be well‑versed with the property layout, briefed on special offers, restaurant/F&B options, and other amenities such as gym, spa, and shared workspace.

Successful Front Desk Agents are hospitable, proactive, capable multitaskers, level‑headed, and professional in demanding, fast‑paced environments.

Main Duties
  • Primary point of initial contact for members, guests and staff, ensuring all visitors are welcomed with open arms and receive top‑notch service from the moment they enter a Soho House & Co property.
  • Perform all concierge duties, including booking cars, tickets to shows, restaurant reservations, spa reservations, etc.
  • Answer incoming emails and inquiries via various digital portals members and guests have access to, and print/scan documents for members and guests joining us in rooms (hotel).
  • Stay informed of updates regarding hours of operation, reservation restrictions, and workflow changes, communicating with all departments daily.
  • Handle accounting‑related inquiries (sending folios, fielding disputes, billing, receipts, refund requests) and walk‑out retrievals, keeping all lost credit cards in safe.
  • Discuss Soho House amenities, room types, descriptions, rates and availability, and suggest room preferences to increase revenue and enhance guest experience.
  • Delegate support for members and guests to valet, luggage storage, bell attendants and/or butlers.
  • Team player with general phone etiquette, participating in daily shift briefings.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of a similar role or customer‑service/facing role.
  • Ability to multitask, answer high‑volume phone lines, and respond to inquiries professionally, both face‑to‑face and remotely.
  • Quick learner with experience or familiarity with Open Table, Salesforce, Google Sheets, and/or Opera.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and conflict‑resolution ability.
  • Detail‑oriented, articulate, and able to multitask in a high‑volume, demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast‑paced movements required to move between different areas of the club.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing as required.

In accordance with Illinois law, the salary range for this role if filled within Chicago is listed below. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Pay Range: $24.50 — $24.50 USD
