The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for effectively selling the public space, food and beverage, and function planning services of the hotel to maximize revenues and profits for the hotel. The Catering Sales Manager establishes new accounts, generates revenues, monitors booking pace, and books repeat business while keeping quality consistently high.

- The Catering Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group/catering related opportunities with significant revenue potential. Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals.
- Creates Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to review with the meeting planner. Ensures signed BEOs are received.
- Distributes BEOs which includes all food & beverage and meeting set-up requirements to be reviewed with Banquets & Culinary Departments during BEO meeting along with a Resume for each event to better communicate the needs of the client to the entire hotel.
- Partners with the culinary team to create customized menus to fit client’s needs as well as increase food & beverage revenues.
- During event, ensures the meeting arrangements are to the event planner’s specifications. Ensures all on-site changes are managed efficiently.
- Attends required meetings including BEO, Resume and Departmental Stand‑up meetings to ensure smooth operations of the Conference.
- Partners with group/catering counterpart to effectively manage the business opportunity.
- Develops effective group/catering sales plans and actions.
- Designs, develops and sells creative catered events.
- Understands the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and knows how to sell against them.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.
- Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
- Provides “Yes I Can!” genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis.
- Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction.
- Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality.
- Minimum two–three years previous experience required, preferably in hotel industry.
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Creative skills to provide innovative solutions and strong presentation skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork.
- Able to resolve conflicts between guests, supervisors and employees.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Sitting for extended period of time.
- Some moderate lifting may be required.
- Ability to set-up catering and conference space, including tables, chairs, stages, etc.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment.
