Position Overview
Hyde Park Hospitality is hiring for a Part-Time Banquets Houseperson at the Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport.
Pay Rate: $26.50 per hour
ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Responsibilities / Position
Purpose:
Responsible for set-up, break-down, and clean-up of all banquet functions.
Average Percentage of Time:
- 45% – Set up and reset tables, chairs, stages, and furniture to meet the function specifications. Set up meeting essentials including notebooks, ink pens, and assorted guest requests.
- 40% – Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explains all specials, promotions, and snacks.
- 10% – Refresh room to meet function specifications.
- 5% – Adhere to guest requests.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions. The percentage of time performing each function is determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to health standards.
- Transport necessary items to ensure food safety standards and satisfy guest needs.
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Completes other duties as assigned by manager.

Other DutiesRegular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by HPH from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of HPH. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
Safety RequirementsPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential to risk health or safety. HPH will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.

- Basic knowledge of meeting room set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods while maintaining professionalism.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Entry Level.
- Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain government license or certificate.
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained as part of the orientation process.
NoticeThe hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
