Public Space Attendant

Position Summary

Ensure 100% guest satisfaction by providing guests with a clean, comfortable, and safe public space. Create guest satisfaction and exceed expectations by providing service brand standards and genuine hospitality. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all front‑of‑house (customer) and back‑of‑house (employee) areas.

• Maintain hotel elevator landings by vacuuming, cleaning all surfaces (including glass and furniture), dusting, and removing trash/recycling.
• Vacuum guest hallways as needed and maintain cleanliness of service landings and linen closets, removing trash and recycling throughout the day.
• Collect and transport dirty glassware (tumbler, rock glasses, coffee mugs) to stewarding for washing and return clean glassware to service landings.
• Notify supervisor promptly of any special guest room/suite issues and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of public areas: lobby, bathrooms, elevators, front entrance doors, carpet areas, seating areas, furniture, and pictures.
• Clean, wipe down, and sanitize guest areas and equipment.
• Collect all trash behind the front desk and lobby, wipe down trash cans, baseboards, and door handles.
• Sanitize and clean employee bathrooms, replenish paper goods, refill soap dispensers, and mop floors.
• Sanitize guest and parking elevators (buttons inside/out, carpet, tracks) and vacuum & mop the carpet on each floor of parking landings.
• Sanitize and clean fitness center equipment, public bathrooms, lockers, sinks, toilets, urinals, floors; replenish supplies and remove trash.
• Remove all dirty towels from the fitness center and replace with clean towels; revisit the fitness center every 20 minutes.
• Walk through all guest floors to remove dirty linens or trash, wipe down landing tables and windows, and collect all trash from service elevators.
• Mop all floors in housekeeping closets and the landing area; ensure hallway doors close and housekeeping closet doors lock (chute door lock).
• Sanitize all door handles, including housekeeping closet door handles and chute door handles.
• Deliver guest service and respond to guest needs as required.
• Use cleaning products and supplies properly and follow protocols; report any security or safety related issues to the manager/supervisor.
• Follow safety regulations when handling cleaning supplies or bodily fluids as outlined during company trainings.
• Work as a team member to maintain a pleasant work environment and build positive inter‑departmental relationships.
• Assume responsibility to notice when a guest is not satisfied and use best judgment to apply the 100% Guest Satisfaction process.

• Minimum of one year hospitality experience in housekeeping.
• Follows instructions and communicates effectively.
• Works well independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to exceptional guest service.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of the hotel.

• Must stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, or otherwise move and use force or exertion up to 75 lbs.
• Use manual dexterity with common office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, etc.
