Join Our Team as a Housekeeping Associate at HI Chicago Hostel!
Would you love to interact with travelers from all around the world and help ensure they have a clean, welcoming place to stay? Join HI USA at our Chicago hostel, located in the heart of the city. We are currently accepting applications for Housekeeping Associates who will help maintain a clean and orderly environment that enhances the guest experience.
Pay: $17.50 per hour

- Clean and prepare guest rooms, dorms, and bathrooms meeting established standards
- Mop and vacuum all floors and sweep hostel grounds daily
- Perform laundry room functions including washing, sorting, folding, and restocking rooms
- Change and wash all bed linens, bedspreads, blankets, and towels as needed
- Wash and put away kitchen dishes and utensils
- Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and tub/showers; restock soap and toilet paper
- Wash windows and window coverings in all rooms as needed
- Dust countertops, dresser tops, furniture, artwork, and door frames as needed
- Empty all trash and recycling bins daily and dispose of in designated areas
- Report any broken items such as beds, chairs, or fixtures to management
- Turn off unnecessary lights as required
- Assist in maintaining inventory of housekeeping supplies
- Light maintenance, kitchen maintenance, and groundskeeping as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum six months of hostel or hotel houskeeping experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- High school diploma or GED
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
- Occasionally required to climb or balance
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close, peripheral, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
