Lead Compensation Consultant; Education

Resource 1 is seeking a Senior Compensation Lead to guide the redesign of compensation processes and job architecture as part of its Workday HCM + Finance implementation (not Student/SIS) within a University setting. This is a highly visible role working closely with HR leadership and Accenture through project go-live and hypercare (15–18+ months).

• Moving from a shared Lawson ERP to Workday.
• Current compensation/job structure is complex and homegrown.
• You will be the functional owner of compensation
  , not a technical configurator.

• Lead redesign of compensation processes across faculty, staff, union employees, student workers, and grant-funded researchers
  .
• Build and validate job catalogs, compensation bands, and job architecture
  .
• Act as Compensation Functional Lead for Workday HCM
  —partner with Accenture to define configuration requirements and validate data.
• Participate in testing, UAT, and provide formal functional sign-off
  .
• Present recommendations to HR leadership and serve as point-of-contact on compensation decisions.

• 6+ years in higher education compensation
  ; 8–10+ years total comp experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP transformations (Workday, Oracle, SAP, Banner, People Soft, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of job architecture, compensation banding, union and faculty models, grant-funded positions
  .
• Comfortable operating in messy data/process environments and a highly visible leadership role
  .
• Hybrid work,
  up to 4 days onsite in Chicago
  .
