Your role as a Payroll & Benefits SpecialistKey Responsibilities
$75,000 - $85,000
Position OverviewAs a Benefits & Payroll Specialist at New Cold, you will play a critical role in managing employee benefits programs and supporting payroll administration across our North America sites. This position focuses on ensuring accurate benefits enrollment, compliance, and payroll processing within a fast‑paced, automated cold storage logistics environment. You will collaborate closely with HR and payroll to maintain seamless operations that support our workforce in highly automated warehouse settings.
Roles and Responsibilities- Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support payroll administration by preparing, reviewing, and processing payroll data for accuracy and timeliness across multiple North America sites.
- Serve as backup to the Payroll Manager for running payroll cycles, including data validation, adjustments, and troubleshooting payroll discrepancies.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure accurate employee data management related to benefits eligibility, payroll deductions, and timekeeping systems.
- Maintain and update benefits and payroll records using HRIS and payroll software, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and related policies, providing clear and timely communication.
- Assist in benefits open enrollment processes, including communication, system updates, and vendor coordination.
- Generate and analyze reports related to benefits utilization, payroll metrics, and compliance audits to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with external vendors and insurance carriers to resolve benefits and payroll issues.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements such as ACA, FMLA, and wage and hour laws relevant to the logistics and warehouse environment.

Requirements- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration and payroll processing, ideally within logistics, warehouse, or automated operations environments.
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Ceridian, or similar platforms – Experience with ADP is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements including ACA, FMLA, EEOC, and wage and hour laws.
- Experience supporting payroll cycles and serving as backup payroll administrator.
- Excellent analytical and Excel skills with the ability to manage data accuracy and generate detailed reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and respond to employee inquiries.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work closely with Payroll Manager and Sr. HR Manager, supporting North America locations with a customer‑service mindset.
- Familiarity with benefits enrollment platforms, vendor management, and compliance audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- ADP certifications and/or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus.
