Human Resources Associate (Internal Role)
Chicago, IL | Full-Time | Hybrid
We’re looking for an organized, people-oriented HR Associate to join our internal team in Chicago. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR or staffing career who wants hands-on exposure across onboarding, payroll support, compliance, and day-to-day associate support in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do Onboarding & Associate Support- Coordinate onboarding for new associates, including documentation and orientation support
- Serve as a primary HR point of contact for associate questions and employment matters
- Provide and explain benefits information to new hires
- Conduct or assist with onboarding calls as needed
- Support Spanish-speaking associates (preferred)
- Process employment verifications and I-9 documentation
- Manage and update HR systems and recordkeeping
- Assist with ad hoc HR and recruiting projects
- Support weekly payroll processes, including timecard collection and verification
- Coordinate approvals and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Prepare overtime and workforce reports for internal and client stakeholders
- Assist with commission and billing reports; maintain Excel trackers
- Partner with billing and operations teams to support early-week payroll cycles
- 0–2 years of experience in HR, staffing, recruiting, or a related internship
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
- Clear communicator with patience and a service-oriented mindset
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic HR/payroll systems
