Job Description

The Director, Rewards Architecture is responsible for the framework, design, governance, and translation to the appropriate execution level and decision makers of enterprise-wide rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, recognition, and wellbeing. This is a strategic role interfacing with senior People team leadership and business leaders to ensure the rewards architecture supports the organization’s business objectives in attracting and engaging employee talent and experts.

This role reports to the Head of Global Rewards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the framework, design, governance, and translation of the company’s rewards programs, including base pay, short-term incentive pay, long-term incentive programs, healthcare, retirement/pension, recognition, and wellbeing
  • Evaluate market practices, competitive positioning, and program design
  • Work with cross-functional partners to ensure that rewards plans and programs support the organization’s business objectives and meet all regulatory requirements
  • Operate as an internal expert to senior management and Zone Rewards teams on global rewards plans, sharing functional knowledge, policies, and best practices, and promoting global collaboration
  • Create functional strategies and specific rewards objectives for architecture, requiring solid knowledge of the function, partnership with functional leadership, and development of frameworks to support the strategy
  • Lead the design and implementation of rewards programs and guidelines that align with rewards philosophy and strategy
  • Develop and own global rewards frameworks such as job architecture, rewards architecture, career levels/job levels/pay levels, job leveling, and mapping to align to the needs of the business
  • Ensure proper governance and expansion of platforms for global consistency and data accuracy of rewards elements, job profiles, band structure management, and organizational structures
  • Assess, analyze, and interpret large data sets to develop insights and convey findings through thoughtful and relevant narratives based on audience
  • Review the effectiveness of existing rewards policies and guidelines; update or create as needed
  • Partner with the Lead, Executive Compensation and Head of Global Rewards on Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors related matters, including market practices, competitive positioning, program design, public company compliance for board and executive compensation, and materials preparation
  • Support global process team, finance, and performance for bonus tracking and payment management
  • Partner with training COE to develop and deliver educational materials, tools, and guidelines that support plans, policies, and processes
  • Lead a team of direct reports responsible for rewards architecture, and indirect reports in the Zones accountable for execution of the rewards programs
  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding rewards policies, current trends, and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience and exposure to a broad range of compensation practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or comparable field; consulting experience and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is a plus
  • Experience designing elements of total rewards programs
  • Creative, analytical, and results-driven orientation, demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions, themes, and trends from data analysis, make recommendations on findings, and communicate results effectively
  • Strong business acumen, interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Strong project management, collaboration, facilitation, oral, and written skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently, work effectively under pressure, and manage multiple priorities
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office, such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
