** What you will do

In this senior leadership role, you will shape and deliver people strategies that drive business performance, organizational effectiveness, and talent outcomes across Amgen’s Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU).Reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources for Global Markets & Policy and dotted line to the Senior Vice President for Rare Disease, the HR Director works with both the RDBU and Global Markets HR senior teams to drive talent strategy and ongoing transformation of Amgen’s nearly 1,000 person Rare Disease business, with the singular goal of better serving our rare disease patients and customers.
As Amgen’s Rare Disease business continues to rapidly scale, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly and meaningfully to Amgen’s overall success, while also being inspired by witnessing directly the benefits to rare disease patients and their caregivers/families. The mission will be palpable every a fast-paced environment, the HR Director delivers practical solutions to complex business and talent challenges and helps leaders navigate growth and change.
** Key Responsibilities
**** Strategic HR Business Partnership
*** Serve as a trusted advisor to the Senior Vice President and his extended cross-functional senior leadership team, aligning people strategies to evolving business priorities and enterprise goals.
* Develop and execute HR strategies that strengthen organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, employee engagement, and business performance.
* Coach leaders on HR and business issues to accelerate change and improve team effectiveness.
** Workforce and Talent Development
*** Work with senior leaders to assess workforce capabilities, identify talent needs, and build forward-looking workforce and succession strategies.
* Lead talent management initiatives including leadership development, succession planning, organizational capability building, engagement, and retention.
* Partner with HR Centers of Excellence on compensation, talent planning, culture, diversity and inclusion, and workforce strategies.
* Drive the attraction, development, and retention of top talent in partnership with Talent Acquisition and business leaders.
** Organizational Transformation and Change Leadership
*** Lead organizational design efforts with leadership teams to improve agility, scalability, and business effectiveness.
* Lead and influence large-scale transformation and change management initiatives across therapeutic areas and commercial functions.
* Use data, analytics, and organizational insights to inform decisions, surface trends, and drive continuous improvement.
