Technical Recruiter
Contract position in Chicago, IL – local candidates needed.
This position is responsible for end-to-end recruitment of technical (IT) roles, including sourcing, assessing, and hiring talent across software engineering, infrastructure, data, and related functions. The role requires the ability to understand technical requirements, evaluate candidate skillsets, and partner closely with hiring managers to deliver high-quality hires. While the primary focus is technical recruiting, this role may also provide support on select non-technical searches and broader recruiting initiatives, including campus recruiting and internship programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical roles, from intake and sourcing through offer and acceptance.
- Partner with hiring managers and technical teams to define requirements, align on hiring strategies, and drive efficient decision-making.
- Source, screen, and evaluate candidates using a variety of channels (e.g., Linked In, technical platforms, referrals), with a focus on technical capability and role fit.
- Build and manage pipelines of technical talent while delivering a strong candidate experience and coordinating interviews, feedback, and offers.
- Track recruiting activity and market insights, maintain ATS data, manage vendor relationships, and support broader talent initiatives, including campus recruiting, internships, and occasional non-technical hiring support as business needs arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience, including experience recruiting for technical / IT roles strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:
- Proficient in applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools (Workday preferred) with experience managing multiple requisitions and priorities.
- Working knowledge of technical roles (e.g., software engineering, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity) with the ability to evaluate resumes and conduct effective technical screenings.
- Strong sourcing capabilities, including Boolean search, talent mapping, and passive candidate outreach.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, assess candidate fit, and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Other requirements:
- On-site attendance 2–3 days per week, with additional days as needed for coverage and/or meetings.
